Smuggler arrested with 300 tarantulas strapped to his body

A suspected smuggler in Peru allegedly tried to sneak through some pretty creepy contraband at the Lima airport. Authorities say he had not only 320 tarantulas but 110 centipedes and nine bullet ants all strapped to his body in Ziploc bags. The 28-year-old suspect from South Korea was initially stopped because of his quote “bulky appearance”. The Forestry Service thinks the creatures came from the Amazon and were going to be sold on the black market. Fortunately, these critters are in the care of authorities now. Tarantulas, as you may or may not know, are a threatened species. You'd be surprised how often this happens. Glad the furry animals are okay. Yeah.

Remote work crackdown: How Trump’s DOGE could push federal workers to quit

The Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, or DOGE, will likely be more of an advisory committee, we're told. It's going to be co-chaired by those two individuals, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. They just co-wrote an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal outlining a key priority for DOGE, saying, quote, requiring federal employees to come to the office five days a week would result in a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome.
